Fritillaria meleagris 'Saturnus'

The flower is shorter, top to bottom than many clones and uniquely in this clone, the petals flare outwards towards the tips, especially as the flower ages.

‘Saturnus’ is one of the brightest colored cultivars. It is a perennial with alternate linear, gray-green leaves, upper leaves being more narrow. The flowers are borne on stalks. Each stalk bears singular, sometimes paired, broadly, bell-shaped, pendant, reddish violet flowers, strongly checkered with purplish-pink.
